Reset Converge Huawei Modem

Find the reset button – it is located on the right-hand side of the Converge Huawei modem (it’s hidden inside a small hole to avoid accidental resetting).

Since it is retracted, you have to use a sharp and thin object to press it.

Press the reset button using a paper clip and hold it for 10-15 seconds. When all the LEDs light up, you can release the button and wait for the modem to restart.

This was the entire process. Your modem is now reset. To log in to your Converge router, you will have to use default credentials (username and password). To connect to Wi-Fi, you have to use the default Wi-Fi password.

Huawei has launched E303 modem in various countries, some are directly unlockable using the unbranded Huawei mobile partner like you can see in this article (Hutch E303 modem unlock solution). I mean to say that Huawei has launched E303 modem somewhere with un-customized firmware and on some places with customized firmware.

How to change the firmware of Huawei E303 customized modem?

1. Download all the software and firmware from the link which is provided at the end of the article.
2. Now run Universal Master code software, go to Huawei tab and generate flash code according to the IMEI for your modem.
3. Now run the download firmware file of Huawei E303 modem and when it asks for password then provide the flash code (which you generated earlier).
4. Now wait for Finish.
5. Now, close the software, dashboard or connection manager, if it opens automatically.
6. Run the CardLock_Unlock tool.
7. Now put your 8-digit unlock code into the unlock code box and click on OK.
8. Now you will get a message “Unlock Success”.

AT commands are the instructions used to communicate directly with a modem or router. AT stands for ATtention that instructs the router about the start of a new command, that’s why every command starts with the word “AT”. For example, AT^SN, here SN is the actual command which is basically used to display the serial number of the router.
Let us have a look at the basic AT commands:-

Check whether a router is locked or unlocked
Execute the below command after inserting Unsupported SIM in router

AT^CARDLOCK?
will give the output as CARDLOCK: A,B,0
Where:
A = 1 (Modem locked),
A = 2 (Modem unlocked)
A = 3 (Custom Lock)
B = The count of remaining attempts to enter unlock code.
Your modem might show ^CARDLOCK:1, X, 0, where X is any number from 0 to 10. If 0 then you can’t enter unlock code.
Check Datalock is enabled or disabled.
AT^DATALOCK?
If the output is 0, means disabled and if it is 1 then it is enabled
